A little time in Innisfail North Queensland

Friday, December 26th, 2008

Well today is the day that we fly out to Vietnam, leaving behind a great time spent in Innisfail just 1 hour south of Cairns. My wife and I spent some time shopping and exploring a few little towns in the area. My sister is the one who lives here with her husband and family. Yes… they grow bananas, lots of them. So here are a few shots from our time with them.

The first few shot are taken in a little town of Millaa Millaa in the main street =)

The old cheese factory, its now up for auction. This little town used to be heavily into dairy and producing massive amounts of dairy products.

This was the weirdest fly I had seen, but it had some unique colours.

These guys were the founders of Palmerston a little town just out from Millaa Millaa. Someone had decided to put a santa hat on one of the satutues.

The General Store.

I loved this sign =)

These tiles made a massive image, but I liked the texture it creates as a close-up.

The Take-Away shop.

Millaa Millaa Falls… So many people come here to check it out or just to have a swim… bit cold.

This little turtle was spotted by my wife right across the other side of the waterfall so I got out my 70-200 with my 2x converter and waded out into the water to get the shot. My wife has very good eyes =)

Lonely little tree

This was a tea farm…

And yes we purchased some tea for $3.50 sooo cheap.

Me on the farm, checking out my brother-in-laws bananas

My cute little nephews Zaviah on the left and Jasper on the right.

Boaz Yardley - Born 20th August 2008

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Wow I have a new little nephew. BOAZ! What a cool name. Last Tuesday my brother-in-law and his family came over for dinner. Its a Tuesday family dinner night every week and this week was our turn to cook so we made sushi. My sister-in-law Carlee was not feeling herself and so they went home early…. I had hoped it was not my cooking =(

But early the next morning we were given the news that baby Boaz had came into the world fit and healthy… So I have posted a couple of shots from the hospital… But stay tuned as I will be doing a studio shoot with them very soon =)

Its cute when babies cry like this….

Dad and his new little son…

The happy family

Eyes open to check out the world… must be weird when you have been inside your mums tummy for almost 9 months

The boys =)

Our Weekend - Cafe Aqua & Red Rock

Monday, June 30th, 2008

We have had the best weather in Coffs Harbour of late and Saturday was no different. My beautiful wife and I got up early and headed to one of our favourite cafes for breakfast (Cafe Aqua). I got to enjoy some of their Paul Bassett coffee which is always nice. The owner Steve always makes us feel welcome =) After brekkie we headed the best getaway spot in Australia, Red Rock (This is where i proposed to Skye). Packed with our picnic bag full of cheeses, olives, chillie salami, dips and a nice bottle of shiraz we set up camp on the bank of the Red Rock river. We did a spot of fishing and yes we managed to catch us some dinner =) All in all a very perfect day.

Isn’t She Beautiful =)

One of my favourite drinks… Mocha!
