Movember Me

November 19th, 2008

Hi Guys and Gals,

I am having a crack at the Movember month and I need YOUR help!!!

During Movember (the month formerly known as November) I’m growing a Mo. That’s right I’m bringing the Mo back because I’m passionate about tackling men’s health issues and being proactive in the fight against men’s depression and prostate cancer.

To donate to my Mo you can either:

  1. Click this link https://www.movember.com/au/donate/donate-details.php?action=sponsorlink&rego=2153851&country=au and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account, or
  2. Write a cheque payable to ‘Movember Foundation’, referencing my Registration Number 2153851 and mailing it to:

                                           Movember Foundation
                                            PO Box 292
                                            Prahran VIC 3181

Remember, all donations over $2 are tax deductible.

The money raised by Movember is used to raise awareness of men’s health issues and donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue - the national depression initiative. The PCFA and beyondblue will use the funds to fund research and increase support networks for those men who suffer from prostate cancer and depression.

Did you know:

  • Depression affects 1 in 6 men….most don’t seek help. Untreated depression is a leading risk factor for suicide.
  • Last year in Australia 18,700 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer and more than 2,900 died of prostate cancer - equivalent to the number of women who will die from breast cancer annually.

Good on you Slip for getting behind such a great cause. BUT…this photo makes you look like a criminal!!! Lucky the mo doesn’t affect what a fantastic photographer (and person/friend) you are!!

  2. Skye Says:

Oh my goodness!!! You look so different in this photograph.
What a great cause to support. But as your wife, I can say bring on the clippers come December!

Wedding of Brooke & Matt - 16th November 2008

November 19th, 2008

Firstly I would like to say “Praise God” for the weather. It looked like any minute the sky was going to fall on us. You see this wedding format was a little different than most others, Brooke, Matt and I got to hang out before their wedding ceremony for their pics. Which I think was about the only time on Sunday it did not rain.

The ceremony was held at the Coffs Harbour Golf Club. We had the fun of being able to use some carts and go around the course to find our little pots of gold (locations). We had a ball I think Matt might think that I am a little looney, but I hey I am a passionate photographer who loves his job!

Despite the rain arriving at the time of the ceremony we managed to keep ourselves dry as we held that part undercover =) So a big congratulations to Brooke & Matt. I look forward to catching up soon =)

Wedding of Kristy & Ben - 15th Nov 2008

November 17th, 2008

Wow, what a day! It went from perfect sunshine all morning to overcast clouds in the afternoon and then “POP” right in the middle of the ceremony the rain came pouring down and washed us out of the Bonville Rainforest and inside to plan B. The one thing it didn’t dampen was the wedding spirit and the love that Kristy and Ben had for each other and their wonderful families. I have seen a few grooms shed the occasional tear but Ben he was a trooper, streaming rivers of them! I love your heart Ben. After the ceremony had finished… yes it completely stopped raining. Which was great because we got some great spots in our travels to photograph at. I love the shot of Mr Happy Ben on the headland jumping for joy…

Congrats to two wonderful people. Hope you love the shots. Talk to you soon =)

Hey Graeme, Thanks for the comments I used my trusty canon 85mm L series @ 2.8 I was all of about 3-4 meters away just enough to frame it right. Got a heap of great intimate expressions there =) Must admit though these guys were too easy to shoot… soooooo in love!

Wedding of Aimie & Lee - 25th October 2008

October 27th, 2008

We are so blessed in Coffs Harbour to have some of the most beautiful weather =) At times it can be quite ordinary but none more perfect than the day of Aimie and Lee’s wedding. The ceremony was held at Aanuka Beach Resort on the lawn. It got a little windy and I thought for a moment we were going to all sail off into the ocean! Some of the shots came up real sweet as we had some very RAD locations to shoot at.

Anyway Congrats to Aimie and Lee all the best and I will see you soon =)

Wedding of Tania & Michael - 19th October 2008

October 21st, 2008

Well I must say that if I was going to marry my wife again then this is the way I would do it. Tania and Michael’s wedding was amazing. It was held at the prestigious Bonville Golf Resort just on the outskirts of Coffs Harbour. They married on the 1st tee which is always my favourite spot at Bonville, beautiful lush green fairways just perfect. Following the ceremony things got a little different to your traditional wedding program. We headed over to the pool for a game of bocce and refreshments before wisking the Bride and Groom away for some intimate photos nearby. We were gone about 30 minutes and returned for the pinyata contest between the little kids and as you will see in the photos the poor old donkey had seen better days. We finished up with dinner on the terrace. Another one of my favourite spots to have your reception.

Well done to Tania and Michael for organising such a beautiful wedding and for letting me share it with you. Michael I hope you get to hit a few more golf balls around Bonville before you leave =)

  1. Nola Carle Says:

Beautiful photo of the Bride under the Jacaranda tree, also love the one of the Bride and Groom kissing under the umbrella.

  2. Skye Says:

Wow - the pictures are so beautiful. The pinyata shot is a classic!

  3. Alex Dussin Says:

Wow!!! What can I say - these photos are beautiful. The day couldn’t have been more perfect for Tania & Michael. What a beautiful couple they make. I wish them all the happiness in the world and I am sure that this day will be one they won’t forget in a hurry. Congratulations again Tania & Michael and thank you for letting me share your day with you. Lots of Love – Alex

  4. Tania Nifosi-Nitschke Says:

Scott thank you for the lovely words – working with you and Skye certainly contributed to the enjoyment of our day. You are both so easy and lovely to work with. We can’t wait to see the rest of the photos.

I would also like to thank everyone who contributed to making our day a dream: Gayle McCosker (celebrant), Sharon (Beautiful Weddings), Robyn (Park Avenue Florist), Carmen and Megan (Ella Bache), the team at Redz Hair, and the team at Bonville Golf Resort.

For Michael and I the day went beyond anything we had imagined. We completely underestimated the power and significance of the event on us. Having our family and friends around us and seeing/hearing them have such a wonderful time meant so much to us. The entire weekend was nothing short of spectacular.

There is one final but very special thank you I would like to make here that I don’t think I expressed very well on the night and that is to my parents – Mara and Vince. Despite the distance (they’re in Bris, we’re in Syd) and busy lives they also lead, they have been incredibly supportive and contributed significantly in so many ways to helping Michael and I create a special day for us and our guests – Thank you both so very much for all your support and generosity, and for coming to the rescue at stressful times. Mum, thank you also for your creativity and the work you did that helped make our day so magical. Love you both very much. X

  5. Mara and Vince Greco Says:

    Tania and Michael

Unbelieveably memorable day.Your happiness shone through and it was all exquisitely captured by Scotts’ lens.
    Love Mum and Vince.
